We sometimes receive negative comments on Youtube, usually from beginner traders that compare hedging with martingale and who are damn sure this it’s another fail. Well, it could be, if you don’t know how to trade or set your EA properly.

In the example above, hedging (trading) was stopped by the maximum number of trades allowed (I’m using the Auto Recovery). When this number was reached (and the newly formed consolidation zone was clear), it was obvious for me - as it should be for anyone who knows to trade, at least the basics - that I must interfere somehow. And so I did. After re-analyzing the charts, different timeframes, fundamentals, incoming news and EVERYTHING else, I’ve started to close the opened trades, as soon as I could (ie as close as I could get to breakeven). In the end, I’ve managed to close the basket and even make a few $$ even though I was initially losing. 

Conclusion: 

• Yes, hedging can lead to losses if you have no idea how to trade or set your EAs
  
• Yes, hedging can also be profitable - again, it depends on your trading skills
• No, you should not use any automated trading system if you don’t know how to trade without it

- the code that closes the opened orders and the pending orders has been replaced and should be a little faster (still complying with the FIFO rules)

1. Trend continuation/reverse (gonna choose reverse because of the previously formed higher high)

2. Enter trade after the formation of the next swing (buying, right after the price reversed down a little)

3. Support/resistance at round price level 0.88 (checked and taken into consideration)

4. Stop-loss (placed as soon as possible, after price away at least 20 pips from the entry level)

RobotFX Auto Recovey, Fluid and NonLagMA minor update

These 3 expert advisors with hedging option have been update to fix a small typo bug.

The HedgeMultiplier cannot be set to a value equal or lower than 1, and an error message is displayed if/when the trader sets it to a number <=1. Before, the error/warning read HedgeMultiplier<=0, possibly creating confusion. Now it has been fixed, and it displays HedgeMultiplier<=1, so the traders can know to set the right value for it.

Nothing else changed and if that typo doesn’t bother you, you can safely ignore this minor update.

- trend on H1 is down (we follow this trend)

- trend on H4 is down (we follow this trend, too)

- Heiken Ashi on current chart (M5) changed from up to down, so the EA opened a sell trade

- Heiken Ashi on current chart changed from down to up, and the EA closed that trade

The EA opened another sell when the next Heiken Ashi signal occurred, this is curent;y on negative profit but there’s still hope as the stoploss hasn’t been hit and the price is only half way to it. We shall see.

RobotFX Heiken Ashi EA is about to be released in a few days. Here’s a short preview.

This Heiken Ashi expert advisor trades with the trend following the Heiken Ashi Smoothed indicator on 2 different timeframes (in the picture, H1 and H4). The trend detector can be disabled though. The entry signal is given by the third Heiken Ashi signal applied to the current timeframe.

Heiken Ashi trailing the price is possible, as well as trailing in steps following a certain number of pips. The EA is compatible with the ECN brokers and sets the takeprofit and stoploss after the trade is opened.

The trader has also the ability to set a maximum number of trades allowed by the EA to open, and use martingale (optional) to recover the losses from a previous lost trade, if that’s the case.

Well, we don’t have any clients with this email/name and the sender doesn’t reply back to us, so we’ll assume that this was created just for the purpose of sending us this one message. In this case we’ll consider acceptable to publicly share this message and hopefully the other traders (or the sender) will get some useful info.

Honestly, we don’t know why you bought it either, especially since we offer the demo version that you can download/try for free. Besides, whenever you click the BUY button this message pops up “By acquiring this product I hereby declare that I fully understood its usefulness and that I will not have RobotFX responsible for any financial losses that might occur. I also read, understood and agree with the T.O.S.”.

Back to your rhetorical question, I think it is obvious that you didn’t understand how this EA works or/and how hedging works. This is not a system, it is a hedging EA.

In fact, you even failed to understand (although is clearly specified on the site as well as in our videos) that the EA doesn’t trade by itself and that in the strategy tester it opens random orders (just so you can see what hedging is and find the settings you want). So of course it will fail in the tester.

My suggestion is to (eventually) read/watch the EA’s instructions and learn to use it; then try to apply hedging to your strategy. Mind, again, that you have to have a strategy and open the trades by yourself. And, of course, do mind that hedging might not be appropriate for your strategy at all. We do not recommend it for scalping, for example, but probably there are other cases when you should not use it as well.

RobotFX closing Metatrader on demo account

It sometimes happens that we receive emails from traders asking us why our EAs are closing their Metatrader terminals, even though they were trading on demo accounts.

Well, that’s why: sometimes a demo account is labeled as a live account by your broker. When this happens, you have 2 options:

• find a more reliable broker

• ask your broker to set your demo account as… a demo account

If you choose the second, you might also want to tell them that the EA you’re trying uses the IsDemo() function to check whether an account is demo or live. They shouldn’t need this info, but again, we don’t know how professional they are.

In other words, you might think that they are only reviewing EAs/strategies/etc., while in fact they only try to put down the competitors so they can climb higher.

Change of license [2017]

Just in case you missed our email, please be advised that - if you didn’t send us your account numbers so far - you are probably running a time limited version of our software. When this will expire, your EA will stop to function and will close your MT4 (if attached to a live chart).

If this happens, please understand that it is not our responsibility if your account will win/lose money due to your outdated RobotFX EA behaviour. According to our emailing service, the warning email we sent has been received by all our clients (see the picture).

What to do next?

Again, send us your account numbers so we can personalize your RobotFX expert advisor. According to our new TOS, there are no longer time limits, only account numbers restrictions. If you are an old client (prior to 2017), you can attach five (5) account numbers (regardless of the broker) to any EA acquired. For the new clients, the limit is three.

This doesn’t change our agreement and engagement towards our customers. You are still entitled to use our software per life, without any further charges or limitations. Except, of course, for the following two:

- the account numbers restriction (this will help to prevent our software being distributed to third parties)

- a one time per month (paid) limit to change your account numbers (also intended to stop illegal distribution/use of our products)

It should be also reminded that the future releases/updates of our EAs must be requested by the clients. In other words, you (the client) have the obligation to check for new releases. Each new version will be announced on this blog, so all you have to do is to take a peak once in a while. And don’t worry, we’re not writing too much, so the new versions announcements will be visible or easy to find.
